The Queen:** After her meeting the other day and his scolding her, Kae had once more become her old self... a bit harder and more determined than ever. She wore her familiar leather ranger garb and was in the lists training with the guards and soldiers just as she had back in the day. She gave as good as she got and a few times one of the men wound connect with a blow then looked shocked. " Look we are here to train, ferget I wear a bloody crown and defend yerself, how nay mercy fer I shant." that said she spun about and hit the man with a backhanded punch to his face. " ON YER FEET!" she bellowed.**
Agravaine: Agravaine had been on his best behavior for the weeks that came. He trained, he ate, he read books, and retired quietly to the quarters Kaelyn gave him for residence. His life before Argania was different. He represented a new world to him. And he made sure he did not do anything to change the perception of the land. He had been amongst the training men remaining quiet and watching them give the training to the Queen instead of fighting her head on. He held his tongue for a number of reasons. The attire was as it always was, all black from the heavy tunic with the loose black shirt under it with the heavy training pants and boots, with leather armor and a cloak. His sword was at his side, the pommel held as he stood with the hood on amongst the others. He saw the man go down under Kaelyn's spar. He nodded. One can only wonder if this was life and death, would the outcome be the same for either of them. [d]
The Queen:** Kae hated being a hard ass but if this were an actual battle no quarter would be given and this man's life would depend on his training as well as those fighting with him. " But Majesty.... you are a woman." the man said as if that alone defended his hesitance. Kae's arctic gaze bore into him " Aye, I am a woman... who can wield a blade as well as a man, and who if this were a battle would not hesitate tae take yer head from yer shoulders...the enemy will nay care... nay should ye." her tone was authoritative and harsh as she spoke. " Do nay think about me being a woman look at me as the one that will take yer life...... now fight me with tha' in mind. If ye cannae then walk away and let another have a go at me."**
Agravaine: If this was another time and place, Agravaine would have stepped forward. But the lesson was not his lesson to learn but the others who did not see the Queen as a warrior but as a woman first. He turned sideways and started pacing back and forth in the snow holding his blade. He quietly listened and kept to himself. The blade was held closely to his side. He had learned patience and by the Gods, he was still learning it. Quietly, he waited and let the training session keep to its course. [d]
The Queen: ** Kae was fuming .. perhaps James had been right and she had been within the Castle to long that people only saw her as the Queen... And not the warrior she was. She glanced over running her hands through her hair in frustration Agravaine was pacing... she smirked as an idea formed in her head. " Are there none willing tae fight like yer life depended on it ?" she asked looking at the guards who now looked down or away a few shook their heads. " Fine... Then watch and perhaps learn something." she looked over at Ag and smirked " Sir Agravaine... please enter the arena." she called to him.**
Ariana: ::Ariana cautiously leaves the woods and approaches the training area. She tugs her cloak tighter around herself as she looks around. Ariana tilts her head looking at those gathered there. She stands near the side watching as the women calls to Ag. She stands still watching and wondering what is going on.:: [d]
Agravaine: It didn't take much. He turned and walked toward Kaelyn, releasing the hold on his blade because he didn't want that to be the temptation for use. "Aye, Queen Kaelyn. State yer request o' meh." He knewwhat it was. But this was sanctioned and all he wanted was the opportunity. Just the opportunity. [d]
The Queen:** Kae coolly looked at the men and then to Ag as he approached. " It seems these men are afraid to train... defend themselves against me. Saying I am a female but above all Queen, do ye feel the same?" she asked sternly. " I pray ye can at least help me tae show them that being a female or the Queen mean naught when yer life could be forfeit in battle." she crossed her arms over her chest and waited for him to answer. She glanced over and saw another who was watching however right now she had to keep her attention focused on this training exercise... lives may depend on it someday.**
Agravaine: Oh so they were going to talk about it and not be about it." Ah'm nae afraid t' fight anyone, man or female. Tis nae matter what's between yer legs iffin' yer tryin' ta' kill meh." He knew the lesson along time ago. He watched her then the men. "Iffin' ye were comin' at me, Kae. Ah'd kill ye whether ye be Queen or Ranger. Doesnae matter which." [d]
The Queen:** Kae was glad he gave the answer she wanted to hear, and as if true prove that very point she drew her blade quickly it hissed with freedom as she swung out to strike him.**
Agravaine: He wasn't given a warning about the blade coming but there was no doubt it would, eventually. The swinging blade was met with the slice of air as Agravaine used one leg to take a step back, the other secure in its place as his upper body leaned away from the swinging weapon. Gloved balled fist was the retaliation that was coming for her face. [d]
The Queen: ** Kae had no intention of actually harming him, but she knew he was skilled and highly trained as she was. Her sword met air, as she turned to see his fist coming at her face she barely ducked in time to avoid it. Regaining her stance she prepared and watched him closely. The guards could not believe Kae had just done that against a man that HUGE! she must be crazy... then again? They would watch and see how this played out. Kae had never sparred against Ag, and wondered now about her sanity in doing so, but if a lesson could be learned for those that watched what was a few bruises right in all this?? It may save lives and if her pride took a hit so be it!**
Agravaine: When the glove fist connected with her face, the large Scot was surprised she allowed it to happen. He wasn't using his full strength thinking she was going to block it. But since she did, and didn't go down, the next was to swipe her feet to keep her off balance from swinging that sword again. The Scot knew how to fence and train but also how to win, by any means necessary. Keeping the Norse Scot off her feet was one way to do it. [d][ I stand corrected. The punch didn't connect. He did try and swipe her feet. ]
The Queen:** As the Scot swiped her feet from out beneath her, landing her ass in the snow. However she was not a greenhorn and recovered quickly scrambling to her feet knowing she was vulnerable on the ground. His height and weight great advantages there not to mention his strength. She was small in height and frame and able to move a bit faster due to that fact.**
Ariana: ::Her eyebrows raise as she watches. So this is the Queen she had heard so much about. It was nice to see a women who could help defend herself. Maybe she needed to take lessons since her bow was pretty much all she knew how to use. Maybe she would take a page out of the Queens book not only to be safer herself but so others might be safer as well. wow they were really good at fighting.::
Agravaine: He watched her scamper to her feet but didn't see her attack in return. It was a two way battle. He looked at her and withdrew a dagger and held it up with a grin. He threw it at her in a way that the hilt would hit her instead of the blade itself. But that wasn't the point of throwing it at her. As the blade was being thrown, he was coming right behind it to take a punch right to her gut. He was thinking to bruise the Queen's face but body blows were less visually impairing. [d]
The Queen:** Distracted briefly by the dagger hitting her hilt first she did not see the well placed fist to her gut making her double over and wheeze for air. She remained bent over but another second before shaking her head" Nice." she hissed. Two could play this game, Kae balled her fist and struck out aiming right for his junk!**
Agravaine: While he could take a lot of hits and could, but Not...Between...His...Legs... The quick turn ended up with the punch landing on his thigh and the aggression that Scot held almost boiled to the surface. He found himself growling and almost reached down and backhanded her. Instead, he just used the side of his leg to push against her side. [d]
Ariana: ::Ariana winces at the punches and runs her fingers along her pouch thoughtfully. She might need to help after everything was over.:: [d]
The Queen:** Her fist landed hard against his thigh, as he pushed against her side with his leg. White hot pain lanced through her but she would not back down. Her temper flared to live and with a growl of her own, she believed if you fought like a man, you got hit like one. Not one to take cheap shots but if opportunity presented itself then by any means needed use them no matter what. Gathering all her strength she shoved at him hoping to push him back a bit and recover to strike once more. Her ribs ached badly and was making it hard to breathe... she balled her fist once more and jumped slightly hoping to hit the big lug in the kisser!**
Agravaine: He was pushed back with all the ferocity Agravaine expected from a Norse Scot woman. Didn't mean he liked it. She was half his body weight but there was strength in the frustrated push. It did separate them. His sword remained in it's place in the holster at his side. While it was her temper that spurred her on, he had learned that he had to keep his throat, through the anger he was feeling. He felt the fist to his mouth and it busted his lip and spots of blood was on her fist and his tunic. The brute head butted her and pushed her back. He did restrain himself because the other was just to put his fist through her head. [d]
Ariana: ::winces and shifts her weight to keep herself by the side of the area instead of rushing over to help in the fight. She did not have the skills for that. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before releasing it and opening her eyes again to watch.:: [d]
The Queen: ** Kae smirked when he fist connected with his mouth and she saw the blood " Aww did I go and mess up yer pretty face old friend?" she taunted. She was glad she had shoved him back, at half his weight her anger fueled her right now. Wincing as she took a deep breath, her sword was over in the snow where she had left it when he swept her feet out from under her. All she had was her body and the daggers hidden in her high boots. She stood to her nearly six foot height and moved around pivoting herself edging towards her sword should he draw his. His head butt about knocked her senseless and impact made her vision dance about.... she shook her head to clear said vision to focus again on the hulking brute before her as she stumbled back when he pushed. She was a bit dizzy for damn his head was hard as rocks, losing her
footing once more she landed on her ass in the snow, hand to her head as if that would help?**
Agravaine: He had a decision to make. To go over and stump her in the ribs or to remain where he was. This wasn't a spar nor a fight to the death. Instead it was a lesson plan for the men under her charge to learn to defend themselves whether it be man or woman. "M'Queen Kaelyn," addressing the men. "Wants ye t' fight like its life or death." The point had been made. Even though she was in the snow dazed a bit, he bowed to her then offered his hand in good sportsmanship to help her up. "Ye did good Kae," lowering his voice so only she can hear. [d]
Ariana: ::Takes a hesitant step forward but stops stepping back to where she had been standing. She glances at Ag then back at the queen with an anxious look.:: [d]
General Jace: Well now! Fighting! She was into and was now standing and watching the little brawl with a smirk on her lips. -d-
The Queen: ** Kae sat there dazed, bruised, and humble. It was not often someone knocked her on her ass, and he did it all to teach a lesson at her asking. She looked up at him as she walked over spoke to the men and held his hand out to help her up, she grasped it and rose to her feet and wobbled a bit unsteadily. Hearing him say she did good she grinned and turned to the men. " That is indeed what I want." she saw Jace approach and nodded seeing his split and bloody lip her grin grew. " I think I will sit out a bit... Jace want to continue this lesson?" she asked as she limped to a nearby bench holding her ribs gently. " Join me Ag?"**
Ariana: ::Ariana runs over unable to help herself anymore and skids to a stop beside the two. Speaking quietly her eyes dropping to the ground she glances between the two before dropping her eyes again.:: Can I be of assistance? [d]
Agravaine: Agravaine watched Kaelyn and as she stood, balanced her by using her shoulder. He might have felt guilty about this lesson if his lip wasn't bleeding. He rubbed his tongue over the split lower flesh and sucked the blood. Ari running over, he bowed his head to her. "M'Lady Queen, this beh Ariana. She beh ah guest residin' in th' Inn fer ah'while til' th' winter cold is comfortable." He'd make introductions remembering his manners. [d]
General Jace: Jace shrugged. "I suppose so." Jace crossed over to the field and smiled. "What are we teaching today? Though it looks more like you both have taught each other quite the lesson." she smirked to Ag and Kae folding her arms. She had on that plate mail today but began taking it off, to be fair at least. "And Ariana, they are quite fine I'm sure. Just nice and limber now after a little fight." she laughed. -d-
Ariana: ::gives a bow her eyes glancing to the two.:: My pleasure Milady. ::Gives Ag a small smile. Glances at Jace:: Hello General. ::her blue eyes flash as she reaches up ad tugs her hood closer to her head.:: I don't see how that would limber someone up. [d]
The Queen:** Kae was glad he balanced her or she would be once more in the snow. Seeing the woman approach she nodded as Ag made introductions. " Greeting Arianna." she said with a wince. " Jace this is Sir Agravaine....Agravaine this is Jace Argania's General." she as well made introductions." A few of the men did not want to fight me because of my being female and Queen... the lesson was to not let stuff like that sway them for their lives may depend on it." Kae looked to Arianna " I do know can ye fix his face?" she teased softly and when she laughed she gripped her ribs tighter. " I think my ribs are just bruised... though breathing hurts like hell." Kae looked at Jace again and smiled " Limbered up us aye, but made us feel our ages as well I am sure... and if nay now then in the morning ." Kae took a step forward and the stopped" If ye tire of the Inn, we have rooms in the Castle." her voice was smooth as whiskey and thickly accented as she spoke. Kae felt way older than she was right now, and yet a part of her thrived once more.**
Ariana: ::blushes and gives a small nod and replies softly her eyes glancing at Ag and the Queen.:: I can help. If you would like me too. ::gives the queen a small smile:: Thank you Milady I think I will take you up on that offer. [d]
Agravaine: It had been along time since someone called him Sir. In fact, it was almost a distant as the road as it was in his mind. He didn't know if he was still Kaelyn's Champion but considering her rib situation, he would not be surprised if he wasn't. His greater concern was Kae. "Iffin' yer sure yer alright?" giving a more than concern look over his usually public expression. The introductions to the General was given with a short lowering of his chin to acknowledge the presence that was now know besides Ari's. Agravaine did not feel his age at all. He didn't feel a day over the last decade he saw Kae but there was no voice to his though. He touched Kae's arm just to let her know he was there to help if it was needed. He looked to Arianna again. "Tis just ah hit. Will beh fine." This wasn't bad. A busted lip reminded him of the spar days. Those wonderful days where he was just Ag and there was no politics involved with his men. [d]
General Jace: Well Jace was out of her armor and stretched a bit. "So who am I teaching a lesson to today?" she smirked and nodded at the introductions to the man. "Nice to meet you." -d-
The Queen:** Kae smirked " Ask fer Mairi she will see tae yer needs." spoken to Arianna. As Agravaine touched her arm she looked at him glad he was there. " Aye, mayhap ye should look at them." she winced but did not blame anyone... She got what she asked for and deserved for it was she not him who started it all. Her ribs were on fire and her head still fuzzy thanks to his head butt. As for his being her champion, and him giving her his answer about joining the military as Captain that could wait until later. The world tilted left then right and began to spin a bit, she grabbed his arm to steady herself and keep upright " Ye have a bloody hard head my friend." Making light of it all.**
Ariana: Gives the Queen a solemn nod her blue eyes concerned and kind.:: Maybe we should get her inside out of the cold before its looked at. [d]
Agravaine: The man didn't have the best memory but getting out the cold was a priority. He looked at Kaelyn and chuckled. "Hard head is th' truth." There was much that was said about him over the years. Having a hard head was the kindest by far. He put Kae's arm in his as a friend and escort at the moment. He liked Ari's idea. "M'Queen, where would ye like t' go?" letting her decide. It was not his place anymore to just take her like he used to before. And yes, they had to talk. But he'd make it easy, "Ah'm 'ere fer ye Kae in any capacity." He'd been here this long, why not go the distance. [d]
General Jace: "Careful there Agravaine, she might take you up on it." oh she couldn't help it! It was TOO perfect! You don't just leave a joke like that hanging around! -d-
The Queen: ** Nodding her golden head when Ari mentioned about getting out of the cold. Ag put her arm in his and she was glad for she was not sure how far she'd get on her own without assistance. " My private quarters will do." was her reply as to where she wanted to go. Then as he spoke and made his offer she smiled up at him " Tis good tae hear that we will speak more of this later." hearing Jace's words she turned her head and chuckled " Jace shut it... and train the men here... will ye." it was said in a lighthearted manner. That said she began walking very slowly for each step hurt. Then recalling what Ag said about him being hard headed she shook hers " Indeed the truth...and then some."**
Ariana: ::snickers softly at the joke. She shifts her weight and nods:: I will follow you I have no idea where I am going. ::Sometimes being new to the area sucks.:: [d]
Agravaine: The thing about it was, he wasn't joking. Kae had been the friend and brethren he'd known for years. If Kae asked something of him, he owed it to her as a woman who used to be in his military and as someone who tolerated him being here in her homelands. "It only means ah'm takin' her up on th' request she made from meh," looking to Kaelyn now. "As my fealty is yers now, Queen an' friend." He smiled at Ariana then taking Kaelyn toward her quarters - but he didn't really know where that was so he hoped she did some pointing and turning for him. Since Ari was allowed in the castle as one of its residents. "Mayhap th' Queen would do wit' some night tea t' ease her pain an' some salve t' take th' brusin' down?" He'd ask her. All he could do. As far as his hard head, "Tis what m'sister says," keeping a stupid grin off his face. [d]
Ariana: ::gives a small nod:: Yes Ag I have a few special teas that would work. I can also bind the ribs to make breathing easier. ::she responds softly giving him a gentle smile.:: [d]
General Jace: She waved them off as she indeed would get to work training the men, which she always did. Jace, cracking that whip! While the others got healing! -d-
The Queen: ** Kae did her best to steer him towards her quarters, but at the stairs that led to them she groaned. Letting out a small huff of breath she took one step up rested and then another. His words echoed in her head ... his fealty was now hers... the word friend form him made her smile. " tis all I can ask then... fer now at least." then he was speaking about salves, teas and such and she grinned. Ari was following them as they walked sloooolwy after a few stairs Kae stopped and leaned her hip against the railing short shallow breath were taken, her head was bent forward and she was glad there was no one about except Ag and Ari to see her this way... she was a very proud person and had barely managed to hide from Jace and the men how much pain she was truly in.**
Caresse magique: As Jace knocked another soldier down in their training a nine tailed white fox kept running up to them and peeing on them while they were down. That promptly earned a yell from the soldier. Had they not been handed their collective asses soo well by the general they probably would have been chasing after that darned fox! It didn't stop them from screaming profanities though. So running to the next one, he or she would get peed on, too. It was beginning to get a little crazy. Angela would simply stand off to one side, dressed in what looked like a winter suit, her green gems scattered in strategic places as to indicate it was her magical armor. And all she could do was watch and laugh at the fallen soldiers as they were peed on. She didn't know which was funnier. Seeing big, strong men lose to a woman or watching each and every one of them getting peed on by Jace's...was it a pet? She remembered hearing Jace say something about a familiar. She just thought the fox looked more like a pet then a spiritual guide."e"
General Jace: So there Jace Greymane, kicking the shit out of some soldiers to 'train' them. She was a full on goddess. Men write her love letters, and women name their vibrators after her. She was tossing them around like sacks of potatoes to illustrate the diversity of fighting. Of course the added humiliation of being peed on by a fox was enough for some to get up and rage attack, which just made it that much better! Oh dear lord it was a full on
brawl after that! Poor soldiers were being thrown about, yelps and groans could be heard in unison as her Kitsuné was going about humiliating those downed men! Life was good, Jace just started laughing! It was a good damn day. Just don't eat the yellow snow. -d-
Ariana: ::comes back down and outside from having attended to the Queens ribs. Looking around she goes back to the training area and stands at the edge again watching the chaos. She looks up and calls out softly:: General? [d]
Caresse magique: The chaos, as it was called, was just out of hand! And that fox was off the chain! Angela wanted soo badly to stop it, but she couldn't stop laughing. And had she wanted to stop the fox from peeing on them she'd need to catch her breath first, which only made the humiliation that much worse. Angela wound up falling down from her laughter. Would nobody save them? At that rate, I think not."e"
General Jace: As she turned her attention to Ariana she grinned, one buy leaping on her back as she threw him over the shoulder and walked up to them. "What can I help you with?" she grinned and walked over to Ariana curiously. The field was littered with soldiers groaning. Adding one more to the pee pile so to say. "You men go relax and... take a shower. You all smell terrible." she laughed a bit again and smirked at her nine tailed fox companion. -d-
Ariana: ::straightens raising her eyes gathering her resolve and determination.:: I want to learn to fight. I am no help to anyone if I can not defend even myself with anything besides my bow. Can you give me a lesson when you aren't to busy? [d]
Caresse magique: As the soldiers walked off, beaten and humiliated, the fox just snickered to herself. And then that new arrival showed up. She looked to her and canted her head before giving Jace one of those looks. You could practically hear her thoughts as she looked to Jace. 'I am NOT peeing on her!' An adamant shake of that head only served to seal that promise before she sauntered over to Jace. And climbing up to put muzzle to left ear, she whispered something in Jace's ear. Too low for Ariana to hear, so you know the drill. And after she whispered in her ear, the fox got back on all fours before sitting, majestically, on the ground next to Jace."e"
