LEGO Digital Designer is a software where the user can build absolutely anything (just as it would with the real bricks) with virtual LEGO bricks right on the computer.
LDView is the program you use to render your creation in a prettier format, and LDraw can automatically let others rewind your build process so they can replicate it in plastic.
I have temporarily solved the issue by installing VMware Fusion 8.0 (with support for Directx10 and OpenGL 3.3), building a Windows 7 VDI and installing the windows version of LDD on that. Next share the folder where you keep your LEGO models.... et voila, back in business. Lot of work just for not having the brick outlines....
